Revealed in response to Cllr. motion regarding cyclepaths in Celbridge
Budget for footpath maintenance across the Celbridge-Leixlip Municipal District is €69,335. The council highlighted the total allocation at Friday’s meeting of the MD, when Labour’s Cllr. Ciara Galvin, asked the council to confirm if arrangements had been made to dip kerbs on cyclepaths across Celbridge.
The locations Cllr. Galvin noted needed particular attention were Hazelhatch Park, Calanders Mill, Simmonstown Manor, the train station roundabout, & the Shackleton Road opposite the turn to Scoil Mochua.
KCC noted currently, the focus is on “removing trip hazards in order of priority and then moving to improving drop kerbs at crossing points”. The council added the particular locations highlighted, can be assessed by KCC & works will be carried out when funding is available.
Cllr. Galvin joins this morning’s editon of ‘Kildare Today’ to discuss her motions from Friday’s MD meeting.
