Fianna Fail Councillor Donna Phelan tabled a motion for Kildare County Council to write to the University, highlighting what she says are persistent parking issues in several residential estates.
Cllrs in the Clane-Maynooth Municipal District have backed a proposal to write to Maynooth University to address ongoing parking problems in the town.

Cllr Phelan said student numbers have increased significantly in recent years, but on-campus parking has not been expanded to match that growth.
She said the issue is impacting residents in multiple areas, including Moyglare Village and that some residents have even resorted to putting up signs to warn students about parking safely.
Her motion was seconded by Independent Cllr Padraig McEvoy, with a majority of Cllrs backing her call for the council to write a letter to the University.
