Concerns have been raised about a road near Monasterevin that has been described as dangerous.
The ‘Y’ junction at Kelly’s Farm on Lackagh Road has previously been identified as a location with poor sightlines and a history of road traffic accidents.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Fine Gael Councillor for Kildare-Newbridge MD Kevin Duffy said that it is a dangerous junction:
"It's quite a difficult junction. No matter what way you approach the junction, it's quite dangerous for anybody who wants to turn down to Lackagh or is coming form Lackagh."
Cllr Duffy had asked for it to be included in a scheme that allows roads to be included in a list that allows funding to be dedicated towards it, citing the need for signage as well as issues with hedge overgrowth.
"I didn't get any firm commitment, it will be put on the list, but I see this as a priority, this and other junctions have been on the list for quite a long time and they need to be addressed."
