It comes as a motion was raised to the council about the station
There have been calls for Sallins Train Station to become an Age-Friendly Station.
It comes as Fine Gael Councillor Evie Sammon raised a motion to the council about the station.
There has been 10 age-friendly stations identified in 2024 and six in 2025.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Cllr Sammon said that she will be looking for Sallins to be identified as an age-friendly station:
"We're hoping that later this year, more stations will be identified, and I'll definitely be looking for Sallins to be on that."
She added that she has noticed that some facilities seem to be lacking in Sallins:
"There's facilities in Sallins that are lacking that other train stations that are age-friendly are getting and are achieving."
Cllr Sammon said that more bus shelters and tap-on and tap-off stations would be some of the measures that could make Sallins train station more age-friendly.
