Minister for Sport and Physical Education Thomas Byrne and Senator Fiona O'Loughlin were in Newbridge today to celebrate the re-opening of St.Conelth's Park.
After an 18 month closure, Cedral St Conleth's Park, Newbridge, has officially opened this afternoon for the Joe Mallon Motors Senior Football Championship Final.
Minister for Sport and Physical Education Thomas Byrne and Senator Fiona O'Loughlin were in Newbridge today to celebrate the re-opening of St.Conelth's Park.
Thomas Byrne TD, Minister of State for Sport, Physical Education and the Gaeltacht said:"It is great to be at St Conleth’s Park today for the official opening of the redeveloped stadium. Today marks a new era for Kildare GAA and it is wonderful to see the development of this new state-of-the-art stadium." according to The Leinster Leader.
The redeveloped stadium can now hold 15,000 people and includes a new 3,000 seat stand.
Pitch upgrades have been made which include floodlights, re-aligned and extended to meet Croke Park standards.
