Celbridge To Hazelhatch Link Road Public Consultation For Preferred Route Is Open

File image: KCC

A route has been selected for the second bridge in Celbridge.

A route has been selected for the second bridge in Celbridge and submissions can be requested on that route up to the 6th of May.

RPS Consulting Engineers, working on behalf of Kildare County Council, have been appointed to progress the Celbridge to Hazelhatch Link Road Scheme through Phases 1 to 4 of the TII Project Management Guidelines.

The scheme has progressed to Phase 2 and as such Kildare County Council wish to inform public that the Emerging Preferred Route Corridor for the scheme has now been identified.

The scheme will consist of a second bridge structure crossing the River Liffey and link road connecting Celbridge to Hazelhatch train station.

New pedestrian and cycling infrastructure are proposed along the route to encourage alternative more sustainable transport modes.

Kildare County Council has said it is now inviting impacted parties, residents of the local area and members of the public, to participate in a 2nd Non-Statutory Public Consultation for the scheme in order to provide their feedback on the identified Emerging Preferred Route Corridor.

This consultation event is running from 28th March 2022 until 6th May 2022 inclusive.

A virtual consultation room is available to view project information and interactive maps here.

In-person consultation meetings with the Design Team will be held in the Mill, Celbridge Community Centre (Room 1) on Thursday 7th April and Friday 8th April 2022 from 12 noon to 8.30pm on both days.

The Council says this will be operated as a walk-in public consultation and there will be no requirement to book a time slot.

Once the public have viewed the scheme information including the route corridor map, they can complete the consultation questionnaire and return it by post, email or alternatively can be submitted digitally via the project portal:
