It comes as the council had been questioned about when works at St Johns Convent would commence
The construction of 24 age friendly units in Rathangan are set to begin in June.
The units will be built on the site of St Johns Convent, for those over the age of 55.
The development was due to begin in the first quarter of this year.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Fianna Fáil Councillor for Kildare-Newbridge MD Brian O Loughlin said that construction is expected to be finished in late 2027.
He added that much of the existing nature is to be kept as is:
"It's split into 50/50 of one bed and two bed apartments over two stories, there's a lovely mature garden out the back and they're being kept with the matures trees and a lovely rose garden."
