Contractors Are Being Sought For A Social Housing Initiative In Rathangan Where A Number Of Homes Are Boarded Up

Concerns have been raised in the past about the number of derelict homes in the area.

Kildare County Council is seeking tenders for a social housing development and regeneration effort at St. Patrick’s Park, Rathangan.

The project involves demolishing 15 dwellings, refurbishing 25 units, constructing 7 new dwellings, and creating a new landscaped public open space.

Concerns have been raised in the past about the number of derelict homes in the area.

Up to 15 homes have been boarded up in the estate for years.

Specifics of the project include:

  •     Construction of 7 new dwellings.
  •     Refurbishment of 25 existing units.
  •     Demolition of 15 units to make way for a new public open space.
  •     Replacement of existing play area with new landscaping and parking.
  •     Provision of a new car park area.
  •     New gate access and removal of back lane.
  •     Associated site development and civil works.

The initiative aims to address social housing needs while enhancing community infrastructure.
