Protests have now entered their fourth day
Agriculture Minister and Kildare South TD Martin Heydon will meet national farming and haulier groups this morning, as part of ongoing engagements around the price of fuel.
It comes after blockades at depots in Cork, Galway and Limerick yesterday led to fuel stocks running out at some petrol stations.
Other Ministers attending are Darragh O'Brien, Timmy Dooley, Sean Canney, Noel Grealish and Michael Healy Rae.
The organisations due to attend the meeting are:
- The Irish Creamery Milk Supplier Association
- Irish Natural and Hill Farmers Association
- Irish Farmers Associaton
- Macra na Feirme
- Ibec
- Irish Co-operative Organisations Society
- Irish Grain Growers
- Farm Contractors Ireland
- Irish Grain and Feed Association
It is understood that protestors are not on the list.
Minister Heydon says protestors should be going through representative bodies to get their concerns heard.
Owner of Kildare Agri Care Ltd, John Dallon has said that there is "controversy" about the meeting with Government later today.
He said protesters understood that there was a chance of a meeting with Ministers but that now appears to have changed.
