Music fans from Kildare heading to Electric Picnic will have the chance to see one of the county's best-known musicians perform at this year's festival.
Kildare will be well represented at this year's Electric Picnic, with Newbridge music legend Donal Lunny and comedian Jarlath Regan both confirmed for the sold-out festival in Stradbally.
Lunny, who grew up in Newbridge and began his musical career in the town, is set to perform as part of Croí, a new festival area celebrating traditional Irish music and culture.
The acclaimed musician will share the stage with some of the country's leading traditional performers over the weekend.
Festival-goers will also be able to catch Jarlath Regan, who was raised on the Curragh, as part of the comedy line-up.
Electric Picnic returns to Stradbally from August 28th to 30th, with thousands of music fans from across Kildare expected to make the short journey to one of Ireland's biggest festivals.
The pair's inclusion ensures there will be a strong Kildare presence across both the music and comedy programmes during this year's event.
