Councillor Chris Pender is calling out Irish Water to address water quality issues caused by Geosmin.
Councillor Chris Pender is calling out Irish Water for their failure to adequately address the recurring water quality issues caused by Geosmin, which continue to plague residents in Newbridge and surrounding areas.
Reports indicate that the same unpleasant taste and smell in the water, experienced last year, have returned, causing significant distress and inconvenience to the community.
Councillor Pender stated "while Geosmin is not harmful to health, its impact on the taste and odour of the water is unacceptable and has not been sufficiently addressed."
He is also calling on enhanced monitoring, temporary treatments, infrastructure upgrades and greater collaboration with environmental agencies to address the issue.
