Crime Rates Surge In Kildare Town, Leixlip And Newbridge

In both Kildare town and Rathcoole, crime rates surged to a 20-year high.

Kildare and its surrounding areas have experienced a significant increase in crime rates, with theft and criminal damage offences driving the highest levels of criminal activity in a decade.

In both Kildare town and Rathcoole, crime rates surged to a 20-year high, reflecting a broader trend seen throughout the county.

Leixlip and Newbridge also reported their highest crime levels in ten years.

According to the Irish Independent, the figures are part of a national trend, as 2022 marked the first full year without Covid-19 restrictions on travel and public gatherings, leading to a notable rise in criminal activity.
