Naas recorded the highest overall crime rate, with a total of 2,101 reported incidents.
Naas and Newbridge have emerged as the areas with the highest crime rates among 15 local garda stations last year.
The comprehensive CSO data covers various types of offenses including assaults, burglary, drug-related crimes, criminal damage, arson, dangerous driving, fraud, public order offences, robbery, theft, and other crimes.

Naas
Naas recorded the highest overall crime rate, with a total of 2,101 reported incidents.
The town saw particularly high numbers in theft (552), drug-related offenses (280), dangerous driving (143), criminal damage and arson (142).
Public order offences were also significantly high (268).
Newbridge
Following closely behind, Newbridge reported a total of 1,452 crimes.
Like Naas, Newbridge saw a high number of thefts (501), alongside significant figures in assaults/threats (178), criminal damage and arson (164), and drug offences (160).
Dangerous driving incidents were also high, with 62 reported cases.
Kildare Town
With 772 total crimes, Kildare Town had a high number of thefts (291) and public order offences (122) the highest crime types.
Maynooth's crime total stood at 743, with theft (349) and criminal damage/arson (109) being the most prevalent offences.
Athy
Reporting 757 total crimes, Athy experienced significant issues with theft (238), assaults/threats (118), arson/criminal damage (112) and public order offences (85).
In contrast, some areas reported notably lower crime rates:
Rathangan
With 74 total crimes, Rathangan recorded the lowest crime rate with theft (21) and public order offences (5) being the most frequent.
Castledermot
Reporting 100 crimes, Castledermot also maintained a low crime rate in comparison to other areas, with criminal damage/arson (25) and public order (16) being the highest categories.
Kilcullen saw a total of 141 crimes, with theft (45) and burglary (18) being the most reported.
