New figures from the CSO for 2021 show that the Naas Local Electoral Area had the highest number of births in that year, outside Dublin.
679 new babies were born in the Naas LEA in 2021, while 486 were born in Maynooth, 406 in Newbridge and 372 in the Kildare LEA.
The Clane LEA registered 364 new births, 336 in Athy and 243 in Leixlip.
Celbridge LEA recorded 217 births, the lowest of all 8 LEA's across the county.
By contrast, Leixlip had the lowest number of deaths in 2021, not only in Kildare, but nationwide, at 64.
The highest number of deaths in Kildare was in Newbridge at 193.
189 were recorded in Athy, 186 in Naas, 170 in Kildare, 155 in Clane, 135 in Maynooth and 103 in Celbridge.
