Gardai have been notified of horses left roaming around a new housing estate in Station Walk in Newbridge.
Moyvalley-based My Lovely Horse Rescue said the horses were dehydrated, prompting a local to give them a bowl of water.
Kfm understands that the horses have since "gone missing" from the area.
