The council had recently been asked for the short term plans for the site to be outlined.
A local councillor has expressed his disappointment in relation to the slow nature of plans to secure and maintain the Parochial House and grounds in Celbridge.
Fianna Fáil Councillor for Celbridge-Leixlip MD David Trost had raised a motion to the council asking for the short-term plans to be outlined.
The intent is to use both the house and its grounds for various amenities, such as a new public library, and other functions, such as age-friendly housing.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Fianna Fáil Counillor for Celbridge-Leixlip MD David Trost said he was "disappointed" about the length of the time that the process has taken:
"To be honest, I'm disappointed that at this stage the deal is not being finalised and that the documentation is still with the solicitors on both sides."
In a plan that has been "four years in the making", Cllr Trost said that it's "crucial that this is really finished as quickly as possible".
He added that the council "really need to close this deal now and move on with getting short-term plans for it's uses, and especially security for the area".
In response, KCC have said that acquisition of the Parochial House is not yet completed.
