A new driving test centre in Leixlip is moving closer, with the RSA confirming it is at an advanced stage of securing a location.
Plans for a new driving test centre in Leixlip have taken a significant step forward.
Social Democrats TD Aidan Farrelly for Kildare North brought forward a parliamentary question, which led to the Road Safety Authority (RSA) confirming that Leixlip is being considered as the location for a new test centre.
The RSA said it is at an advanced stage of the process and is close to finalising a lease agreement with a landlord in the area.
If completed, the new centre is expected to improve access to driving tests for motorists across North Kildare and help ease waiting times in the region.
Further updates are expected as the process progresses.
