€10 Million Allocated For Active Travel Schemes In Kildare

The funding has been announced by the National Transport Authority

€10 million has been allocated for Active Travel Schemes for Kildare in 2025 by the National Transport Authority (NTA).

Minister of State at the Department of Transport and Kildare North TD James Lawless welcomed the news saying “The primary function of the Active Travel Scheme projects is to make it safer and easier for people to cycle or walk within their local town or village”.

The full breakdown of the funding is as follows:

Royal Canal Greenway (Maynooth to Leixlip) € 3,000,000

Green Lane Active Travel Scheme € 250,000

Naas to Sallins Greenway - Section 2: Naas Harbour to Sallins € 100,000

Sallins Village Active Travel Scheme € 100,000

Celbridge Road Active Travel Scheme € 125,000

Craddockstown Active Travel Scheme € 1,300,000

Kilcullen Road Active Travel Scheme € 100,000

Celbridge Active Travel Bridge € 300,000

Active Travel Office - Staff Costs € 750,000

Monread Road Active Travel Scheme € 20,000

Dublin Road Active Travel Scheme € 50,000

Monasterevin Town Active Travel Scheme € 200,000
