Over, €3.5 million has been paid out to people, families and households in Kildare in exceptional needs payments related to housing.
The top-up payments were made by the Dept. of Social Protection between 2018, and April of this year.
ENPs are paid under the Supplementary Welfare Allowance Scheme.
It is a single payment to help meet essential, once-off, exceptional expenditure, which a person could not reasonably be expected to meet out of their weekly income.
