A substantial investment of €583,000 has been revealed for the planned expansion of St Catherine of Siena National School in the Curragh Camp.
This will help provide essential new facilities to support the expanding school community.
The proposed development involves building a 395-square-metre single-storey extension at the front and side of the current school building.
Central to the project is the addition of a two-classroom Special Education Unit, designed to strengthen the school's ability to support children with special educational needs in an inclusive setting.
The extension also features a secure outdoor soft play area, a sensory garden, and six additional parking spaces for staff and visitors.
Minor modifications to the existing structure will also be made along with site enhancements.
