It will support minor works, equipment purchases and facility upgrades

€70,714 in funding has been announced for youth services across Kildare and Wicklow.

The funding will support minor works, equipment purchases and facility upgrades, aimed at helping local organisations modernise facilities and replace ageing equipment.

It is also hoped to improve accessibility and provide safe, welcoming spaces where young people can learn, connect and participate.

The funding includes €3,087 each to InSync Youth Work Ireland Services in Athy, Kildare, Leixlip, Naas, Newbridge and west Wicklow.

It also includes €3,539 being allocated to Wicklow Travellers, €9,135 for Bray Travellers, €1,699 for Bray Sports Promotion Unit, €12,456 for Connect Bray Neighbourhood Youth Project, €12,279 to Crosscare East Wicklow Youth Service and €13,083 for Crosscare Bray Youth Service.

This is the first dedicated capital funding stream for minor works and equipment upgrades available to UBU-funded youth services since 2023.
