The funding is hoped to close gender gaps in local and regional sports
Sports clubs are being encouraged to collaborate with schools in their delivery of new facilities.
The latest round of the Community Sport Facilities Fund has been announced today, with increased maximum grants now available for all applicants.
It has increased by €50,000, to €550,000.
As well as this, a new tier is also being introduced for larger multi-sports projects, they can avail of up to €750,000 grants.
It's hoped the funding will also help with projects to close gender gaps in local and regional sports.
There's a particular push for investment in collaboration with schools, to create facilities for students and young people.
Junior Sport Minister Charlie McConalogue is encouraging clubs to apply, and has detailed what's available for local clubs in Kildare:
