Coillte have announced a total of €3million for forestry upgrades across the country
€80,000 has been allocated for three Kildare forestry upgrades as part of the Department’s strategic partnership with Coillte.
It comes as Minister for Social Protetction Dara Calleary announced over €3 million for 224 recreational sites for 2026.
The three sites in Kildare include Maddenstown, Mullaghreelan, Rahin.
Maddenstown has been allocated €30,000 to build a small car park and upgrade trails, as well as adding recreation furniture
and signage
Mullaghreelan have been given €25,000 for phase 3 of a trail upgrade programme.
Rahin has been allocated €25,000 for the redevelopement of a recreational site and enhancement of trail
network to include new signage, picnic tables and trail upgrades.
