KWR is calling for volunteers to commit just four hours a week.
Kildare Wildlife Rescue (KWR) is making an urgent appeal for volunteers to join its team at its centre in Kildare Town.
The recent East Coast Oil Spill, coupled with a significant increase in wildlife admissions, has placed unprecedented pressure on the organisation's services.
Despite having the spatial capacity and facilities to care for more animals, KWR is struggling to meet the rising demand due to a shortage of volunteers.

“It’s wonderful to see more people becoming aware of our work and taking the time to report wildlife casualties and bring them into our care,” said KWR Manager Dan Donoher. “However, to keep up with the demand for our services, we need more people to volunteer their time to help us at the Centre.”
KWR is calling for volunteers to commit just four hours a week.
The centre is easily accessible by public transport, making it convenient for those willing to help. Interested individuals can contact volunteer@kwr.ie to get involved. All necessary training will be provided.

The organisation admits almost all native wildlife species, from the smallest garden bird nestlings to larger birds and mammals such as badgers, foxes, and swans.
