Kildare South TDs Martin Heydon and Patricia Ryan debated the rising cost of living on KFM.
A heated debate took place on Kildare Today this morning between two Kildare South TDs.
Sinn Féin TD Patricia Ryan appeared on Kfm, in order to call out Fine Gael's Minister Martin Heydon, on whether he stands by recent comments made by the Minister for Finance, Pascal Donohoe on the cost of living.
Minister Donohoe said that the Government don't plan on making any changes before the next Budget in October
Deputy Ryan claims that the Government is out of touch with the people on the ground, and warned Minister Heydon that the people who voted for him wouldn't be doing so in the next election.
Eaten bread is soon forgotten when it comes to Sinn Fein, was Minister Heydon's reply, and he outlined the various measures that his Government has introduced to tackle the rising cost of living.
He said that the Government has given a €2billion intervention already, but said it cannot insulate everyone from every excess of the high cost of living.
The Minister for State at the Department of Agriculture claimed that Sinn Fein has the luxury of being in opposition with their "magic money", and claimed that they call for more and more without knowing the true costing.
