It forms an overall listing of 72 cities, towns and villages identified as priority locations for investment.
Kildare has areas named in the "key towns" and "high projected growth area" sections.
Maynooth and Naas were both identified as key towns, while Newbridge, Celbridge, Leixlip, Kildare, Clane and Athy were all named as high projected growth areas.
The €2 billion allocation is in addition to the €10.2 billion already secured by Uisce Éireann under the National Development Plan to support environmental compliance, public health, growth, and safe secure water and wastewater services nationwide.
