A number of companies have announced cuts recently
Sinn Féin TD for Kildare South, Patricia Ryan, has said energy prices are still far too high and must be cut.
Commenting on news that Bord Gáis Energy will cut gas and electricity prices from February 29th, Deputy Ryan told Kfm:
“Energy companies have announced cuts recently, but they do not go far enough and prices remain much too high.”
The Party Spokesperson for Older People said “some supplier’s electricity prices are still almost 90% above 2020 rates, and gas prices almost double previous levels.”
Bord Gais, Electric Ireland and SSE have all announced price cuts in recent weeks, while new player Yuno Energy is implementing lower prices.
