He charged parents between €300 and €350, sometimes using anesthetic spray but not in all cases.
A man who called himself a doctor and circumcised seven boys has been jailed for six-and-a-half years.
Philip Ogbewe, from Drogheda, performed the procedures at homes in Kildare, Dublin, and Wexford in 2018 and 2019.
He charged parents between €300 and €350, sometimes using anesthetic spray but not in all cases.
Some procedures were carried out while the child sat in their parent's lap, while one was carried out on a kitchen table.
Some of these parents had tried to get their child circumcised in hospital but could either not access the procedure or had been quoted around €1,500 for the surgery.
