The 26-year-old man has been jailed for life for the murder of his two sisters and brother in Tallaght, Dublin almost two years ago
A 26-year-old man, who killed three of his siblings almost two years ago, has been handed mandatory life sentences for their murders.
Andy Cash pleaded guilty to murdering his 18-year-old sister, Lisa; and 8-year-old twins, Chelsea and Christy, at the family home in Rossfield Avenue, Tallaght.
In a victim impact statement read out today on behalf of the children’s mother, Margaret, and the wider family, the court heard how their world stopped turning on the 4th of September 2022; and how every day since has been unbearable.
In the early hours of that morning, Andy Cash killed his sisters, Lisa and Chelsea; and brother, Christy by stabbing them repeatedly in their faces, necks and bodies.
Christy had 107 stab and slash wounds; Lisa had 71; and Chelsea had 65.
The family’s statement went on to say how no amount of time a person can spent in a jail cell will justify what has happened to them.
It read: “We are no longer the people we were when they were alive as we died with them that day.”
Andy Cash was handed three life sentences, which will run concurrently.
