Councillor Mark Leigh appinted as Leas Cathaoirleach
The Athy Municipal District Committee has appointed Councillor Veralouise Behan as Cathaoirleach and Councillor Mark Leigh as Leas Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District Committee, at their annual meeting which was held in the Athy Municipal District Office, Rathstewart, Athy.
The appointment of new Cathaoirligh, Leas Cathaoirligh, Mayors and Deputy Mayors for the Kildare-Newbridge and Celbridge-Leixlip MD will be made at each of the respective Municipal District meetings throughout July.
Already this month, Social Democrats Cllr. Bill Clear was appointed Mayor of Naas, with Independent Cllr. Seamie Moore as Deputy.
In the Clane-Maynooth MD, Fine Gael's Tim Durkan is now Cathaoirleach, while Labour's Angela Feeney will serve as Deputy.
