Emergency services are dealing with a fire at a funeral home in Naas town centre this afternoon.

Kfm News understands that the fire broke out at part of the premises occupied by Murphy Brothers Funeral Directors, a long-established business in the town.

The emergency response included two fire tenders and a water tanker.

Fire crews accessed the site via Church Lane, which links Corban’s Lane with South Main Street.

Church Lane, a one-way route, is currently closed by gardaí to traffic and pedestrians.

Independent Ireland Cllr Bill Clear, who is at the scene, said a section of South Main Street - including the area normally used as a taxi rank - has also been closed.
