The search began last week.
An axle found during a search at a quarry on the Wicklow-Kildare border is to be forensically examined.
It was found during excavations linked to the murders of Jo Jo Dullard and Deirdre Jacobs who disappeared within years of each other in the 90's.
The search began last week on foot of information given to Gardai linking the site with a person of interest in one of the murders, who may have buried cars there.
