Maynooth businessman Paul Wright, accused of defrauding US investors of millions, has been criticised by a Florida firm for using an array of excuses to stall legal proceedings.
TMCT, the company suing Wright, alleges he has employed tactics such as faking a brain aneurysm, pretending to need hand surgery, claiming his best friend was having an affair with his wife, and even alleging a tax audit and frozen accounts - all to delay payments.
Wright, who denies the claims, has attempted to have the case dismissed on jurisdictional grounds.
According to the Irish Independent, TMCT has urged the court in Florida to deny his latest attempt to pause discovery al stall legal proceedings.
