Gardaí are appealing for information after a "shocking" daylight assault in Newbridge earlier this week.
It occurred on July 13th at 8pm.
The victim was walking on station road in Newbridge when two males began spitting and throwing stones at him.
He continued to walk on, and later encountered the two males again, and was then hit several times and subsequently injured as a result.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Leixlip Garda Christopher Fallon described it as a "shocking incident in daylight hours".
He added that it was undoubtedly "extremely traumatic for the individual and his family".
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 431 212.
