It's the 5th death on Kildare roads so far this year
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a Fatal Road Traffic Collision that occurred at Knocknagee, Castledermot on Easter Sunday approximately 11.30am.
The scene is a cross roads where the L8090 (back road from Castledermot to Carlow) crosses with the L8089 (from the R448 to Maganey).
Gardaí and emergency services attended this scene.
A full road closure was put in place and a Forensic Collision Investigation was carried out.
A cyclist, a man in his 60s, was travelling from Castledermot on the L8090 towards Carlow, when he came in contact with a vehicle, a White Toyota Prius at this crossroads.
This cyclist was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
