The incident occurred on Sunday May 17th around 3pm.
Gardaí in Maynooth are investigating an assault incident involving a horse and cart that took place on Sunday.
The assault took place at approximately 3pm in the Kilmacredock Lower area.
During this incident two males on a horse and cart passed by a pedestrian.
As they passed one of the males spat in the face of the pedestrian.
The two males were in their mid-teens and were wearing dark clothing.
They then proceeded in the direction of the canal.
Anyone who may have been in the area at the time or was using the canal and observed these males is asked to please contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800.
