The incident occurred last week
Gardaí have launched a public appeal for witnesses to an incident which occurred just after midnight on Wednesday June 3.
According to the Irish Independent, an elderly man was robbed in Moorefield, Newbridge between the hours of 12am and 12.30am,
The culprit is reported to have stolen the man’s phone, house keys, car keys and a sum of cash.
A social media group said that the crime occurred in “in the lane way between Páirc Mhuire and Applegreen” in the town.
Members of the group appealed to fellow community members asking if anyone had seen the stolen items thrown away anywhere in the area including in bushes and on paths.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward, adding that investigations are ongoing.
