Gardaí in Kildare have issued fresh warnings to motorists after multiple drivers were caught travelling at dangerously excessive speeds on the M9 motorway.
Four motorists were detected driving well above the 120km/h motorway speed limit, with one driver clocked at 160km/h.
Two others were found travelling at 152km/h and 150km/h respectively, while a fourth motorist was recorded at 146km/h.
All four drivers were issued with Fixed Charge Penalty Notices (FCPNs) of €120 and received three penalty points on their licences.
Separately, Gardaí in Kildare confirmed that 43 vehicles were seized over the past week.
The offences included driving without insurance, tax, or a valid NCT.
Vehicles were also seized from disqualified drivers and learner permit holders who were unaccompanied.
