One such vehicle was stopped after Gardaí became suspicious.
On a social media post, An Garda Síochana say that the driver introduced himself as someone else.
"A quick check on the Garda Mobility App revealed the driver's real identity, and it turned out they were serving a two-year driving disqualification.
As a result, he was arrested, charged before the courts, and the vehicle was seized.
It was just one such seizure, with Gardaí saying on Facebook that "court proceedings will now follow for those involved".
They also highlighted that driving without insurance carries serious consequences, including mandatory disqualification from driving (up to 2 years), fines of up to €5,000, up to 6 months' imprisonment and the seizure of your vehicle
