The weapon will now be sent on to the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau
Gardaí have seized a a handgun and arrested a man in his 70s as part of searches in the Saggart area of Dublin.
The Dublin Crime Response Team seized the firearm along with a quantity of ammunition.
The weapon will now be sent on to the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau to undergo analysis.
The man arrested in connection with the incident has since been released and a file has been sent to the D-P-P.
