It is being built in Celbridge.
The state's new data centre, to be built in Celbridge, will house data stores for four separate organisations.
It will, when finished, contain databases of An Garda Siochana, the Dept. of Social Protection, the Revenue Commissioners and the Dept. of Agriculture.
The facility is being constructed at the state's campus at Backweston.
Kildare County Council granted permission for the project to the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer at the Dept. of Expenditure and Reform in February, 2019.
Its a 5474sqm building with with an additional c.2826sqm in external plant area, made up of three distinct parts.
Kildare North Fianna Fáil TD, James Lawless, says it will make the town a hub of government data storage.
