A motorist was caught speeding on the Sallins bypass on Monday, resulting in a costly lesson that will likely make them think twice about rushing home with hot food.
Gardaí conducting routine speed checks on the bypass clocked the driver traveling at 110 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
When stopped, the driver explained that they were in a hurry to get home and keep their takeaway warm.

Unfortunately for the driver, the desire for a hot meal ended up being an expensive one.
The speeding violation resulted in a €160 fine, with three penalty points added to their driving record.
