Today's Sunday Independent is reporting that Independent Cllr. in Newbridge, Tom McDonnell, is due to be sentenced before the criminal courts later this year for breaking the back windows of another man’s home in Blackrock in Dublin.
Mr. McDonnell, from Lakeside Park in Newbridge, filled the country’s last council seat during the recent local elections.
Ali Bracken, writing in The Sunday Independent says court records state that Cllr. McDonnell is awaiting sentencing before Dún Laoghaire District Court for damaging “windows at the rear” of a house in Rockville Crescent, Blackrock, Co Dublin, belonging to a named individual, “intending to damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be damaged contrary to Section 2 (1) Criminal Damage Act, 1991”.
The criminal damage occurred on September 6th, 2022.
The case will next be heard on October 7th and a probation report is awaited before sentencing at a further date, according to official court records.
