It follows social media commentary on the smell and appearance of the water in recent weeks.

The firm affirms that it "carries out regular testing and monitoring of all public water supplies in Ireland "
Eoin Beatty delivered the statement on Tuesday's edition of Kildare Today.
"Irish Water, working in partnership with Kildare County Council, would like to reassure customers in Naas and surrounding areas that the drinking water is safe to drink and there have been no reported issues at the treatment plants that supply this area. The drinking water produced at these plants is fully compliant with statutory drinking water regulations. Irish Water carries out regular testing and monitoring of all public water supplies in Ireland in accordance with this legislation.
