The introduction of a double social welfare payment during the pandemic may have contributed to the rise in homeless deaths over the past year.
That's according to a new Oireachtas report, which says this was a big issue for people with addiction problems.
It says some people were using a larger amount of substances, resulting in more overdoses.

A drug to treat overdoses was used twice as much in one Limerick centre during the first lockdown, compared to 2019.
