Funding allocated, in principle, to St. Patrick's Park in 2011.
Three separate motions on the €6.8 million regeneration of a Rathangan housing estate.
The budget was approved, in principle, in 2011, and an initial application for funding was made in 2008
Kildare County Council's original plans for the estate included demolition of 44 social homes, construction of 23 others, and changes to the layout of the estate.
There was an initial forecast completion date of 2017 for all three phases of the project.
The proposal has been revised over time, and, in 2019, KCC was allocated €50,000 to up-grade the entrance road to the estate.
Three councillors, Noel Connolly, Anne Connolly and Mark Stafford, are asking Kildare County Council to define the up-to-date position on the project.
All three motions will be debated before the May meeting of the Kildare Newbridge Municipal District.
The text of the questions posed of KCC is:
23. Question – Councillor Noel Connolly
Can the council provide a report on the progress being made with the redevelopment of St Patrick's Park, Rathangan?
24. Question – Councillor Anne Connolly
Can the council indicate when they will be in position to proceed with the next phase of developments at St Patrick's Park, Rathangan?
25. Question – Councillor Mark Stafford
Can the council provide an update on the St. Patrricks Park, Rathangan regeneration project?
