It was asked to outsource some Housing Adaptation Grant elements, to speed up approvals.
Kildare County Council says it does" not consider it necessary to make any change to the current arrangements" to key steps in certain grant approvals.
It was asked by Fine Gael Cllr., Tim Durkan, to consider outsourcing the inspections element in applications for 2 kinds of Housing Adaptation Grant, to speed up approval.
Both schemes are designed to help people to modify their homes in accordance with their needs.
KCC says "Housing inspections of approved works on private homes are carried by an engineer/ architect engaged by the home owner directly."
It acknowledges that works under the grant schemes were curtailed due to COVID-19, but are now being progressed.
