Kildare Among Counties To Receive Additional Special Education Classes

The announcement follows protests in the capital by parents, some from Kildare, who can not get access to a special education class for their children.

An additional 292 special classes have been sanctioned for the coming school year 2025/2026 across the country, including four in Kildare.

This includes a further five SEN classes that were announced for the county last week bringing to fourteen the total number of additional special education needs classes in Kildare North.

The announcement follows protests in the capital by parents, some from Kildare, who can not get access to a special education class for their children.

The schools earmarked for special classes include:

Caragh National School Primary Naas
Scoil Chearbhaill Uí Dhálaigh Primary Leixlip
Scoil Eoin Phóil Primary Leixlip
Naas Community College Post Primary Naas
Scoil Naomh Bríd, Celbridge
San Carlo Junior National School, Leixlip
San Carlo Senior NS, Leixlip
Mercy Convent Primary School, Naas
Robertstown National School, Prosperous/ Clane
