With southerly winds bringing dust from the Sahara
The weather could have a spoiler alert for newly washed cars, windows, or laundry today.
A few thundery downpours are expected in parts of the country this morning... and southerly winds mean the rain could bring traces of dust from the Sahara.
In Kildare today it is mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain, which will be very heavy at times.
However Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says the rain will also bring milder conditions today.
