Kildare Councillor Says The Local Authority Needs To "Do More" To Facilitate Childcare.

Over a dozen creches in Kildare have closed since the beginning of the pandemic.

A councillor says Kildare County Council needs to "do more" to facilitate the provision of childcare.

Places at creche and childcare facilities are an issue in all of Kildare's 5 Municipal Districts.

At least 13 creches in Kildare have closed since the beginning of the pandemic.

Social Democrats Cllr., Nuala Kileen, has been speaking to Kildare Today.

She says the cost of establishing new childcare settings is an issue for many providers.

Cllr. Kileen joined Ciara Noble on Friday's edition of the programme on her motions before the monthly meeting of Kildare County Council.
